ltd warehouse found... the joubert singers – stand on the word remixes available 12inch, including larry levan mix and exclusive reworks by patchworks, panoptikum arkestra & walter mecca. originally recorded live in the first baptist church in crown heights, nyc, in 1982 under celestial choir and pressed only for the congregation, it was then enlighted by walter gibbons (owner of jus born studios and a new born christian at the time of the recording), who acquired a copy and played it out at the 7th av. rock and soul shop, where he worked. >stand on the word< was walters biggest record at the time, says colin gate, who visited the church in order to track down the origins of the song.

refined selector and esteemed producer, steve braiden breaks out on his own with the off out label after some excellent releases for the likes of rush hour and joy orbison s now defunct doldrums label. its a good day when there is some new braiden productions to soak up, and hopefully the establishment of off out will see them appear with more regularity in the future. as an opening statement, apex of the sun s way is a powerful one indeed! the title track is characterised by the sort of rhythmic poise we have come to expect from a braiden production, with searing emotive textures rubbing up against some of the crispest drums heard this year. - solar poise- is equally memorable, with strange ghostly vocals trapped deep in the mix and an unpredictable synth careening around the channels.

what do people like balihus daniel wang and royksopp have in common? they write nice things like this about our (not so) new talent kid on the block. polosh superproducer maximilian skiba! music from a very good young polish producer, warm chords, funky melodies, think bass and guitars by chic meeting a string section by beethoven, with a touch of italo-disco and almost flamenco-like soul daniel wang he produces very nice italo disco tracks, im a fan royksopp. shanghouse is an instant hit. i would say instant classic if this wasnt so daft and meaningless. if you just heard it 5 times and feel the need to put it on another time. thats shanghouse by max skiba. then theres a great remix by victor rosado and a great slightly diverse prins thomas edit of korsakot another track.
